Dany Domínguez Pérez, Ph.D., Founder

Dany is a biologist from Havana University, holding a Ph.D. from the University of Porto, and certified in teaching and learning in higher education. Motivated to apply OMICs approaches and bioinformatic tools, he aims to contribute to the high-throughput discovery of bioactive peptides, with applications in both biomedical and industrial fields, as well as utilizing OMICs for molecular biomarker identification.

Guille is Auxiliary Researcher at CIIMAR. Majored in Pharmaceutical Sciences (1998) at the Central University of Las Villas, Cuba-Spain. MSc. in Biochemistry, Cuba (2009). PhD in Biology, Universidade do Porto (2013), Portugal. He has over 20 years of experience in the development and application of computational tools in various fields related to Biotechnology, with a direct impact on drug discovery and design from natural sources.

Gisselle is an experienced researcher in pharmaceuticals and IVD device development, specializing in Clinical Performance Evaluation, Good Clinical Practice, Regulatory Affairs, and Medical Device Quality Management. Holds a Ph.D. in Genetics (Autonomous University of Barcelona, UAB), MSc. in Genetics and Toxicology (UAB and UH), and a Pharmacy degree (UCLV). Accomplished as a full professor in teaching, proactive, and empathetic.

Kevin is a biologist from Yachay Tech University, Ecuador. His research focuses on the identification of hemolytic peptides through a novel approach based on complex network science and multi-query similarity searching methods. Kevin has also been involved in characterizing the chemical space of anticancer and AMPs. He is enthusiastic and proactive, recognized as the best undergraduate.

Cátia Moutinho, Ph.D., Collaborator

Cátia is a biologist with a Ph.D. and a master's in clinical trials and medical affairs, with profound knowledge in cancer genetics and epigenetics. She possesses solid skills in hands-on lab experience on single-cell and spatial technologies acquired through her experiences in Portugal, Spain, and Australia. Cátia is the founder and host of the consulting and podcast platform, The Single-Cell World.

Y. Marrero-Ponce, Ph.D., Collaborator

Yovani holds a Ph.D. in physico-chemistry from Havana University (2005) and an MSc in Biochemistry from the Medical School of Villa Clara (2003). He is the head of the Computer-Aided Molecular Discovery and Bioinformatic Research International Network and a full professor of pharmacology, Bioorganic & Medicinal Chemistry at USFQ. Recognized in the top 2% of most cited authors in his field.

Alexander is a post-doctoral researcher at Saarland University, holds a Microbiology degree from the University of Havana (UH), Cuba (2000), an M.Sc. in Plant Biotechnology, UH (2008), and a PhD in Biology, UH (2013). He specializes in biotechnology, phytopathology and molecular biology of plants and fungi, showcasing skills in bioinformatics, data mining, Python programming, and statistics. His international research spans Cuba, Brazil, and Germany.

Reinaldo, a Ph.D. holder from Rostock University, Germany, is a distinguished Chemist and full professor of Computational and Organic Chemistry at Central University of Las Villas, Cuba. With a robust background in Chemistry and Computer Science, he has actively contributed to the development of various programs and excelled in Big Data processing. He has proven skills in programming python, database management, web design and data manipulation.

Carlos Martínez, Lic., MSc., Academic Editor

Carlos is a biologist with 15 years of experience spanning university teaching, scientific research, protected area management, and scientific editing. As Research Associate, he has co-developed and contributed to new research infrastructures, workflows, and databases in the European Union. Prof. Olga Castaneda, PhD; Senior Consultant

Prof. Olga earned her PhD in Biological Sciences from Havana University, Cuba, where she pioneered the characterization of cnidarian toxins. She discovered ShK, a peptide toxin from the sea anemone Stichodactyla helianthus, which emerged as a promising drug candidate for autoimmune disease treatment. At the Faculty of Biology, UH, Cuba, she became a respected academic, teaching human and animal physiology for 40 years while leading research in pharmacology and toxicology.

Prof. Felix Martinez Rios, PhD; Senior Consultant

Prof. Felix received his M.Sc. (2006) and Ph.D. (2009) degrees in Computer Science from the Instituto Tecnologico y de Estudios Superiores de Monterrey. He holds a B.Sc. degree in Physics (major in Nuclear Techniques) from the University of Havana, Cuba in 1980. Since 1997 he has worked at Universidad Panamericana campus Mexico City. His research interests are focused on developing new algorithms for Optimization, Quantum Computing, Applied Data Science and Mobile Robotics.
